Seven days NSS Camp inaugurated at Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd

Under the aegis of SGHGU Hari Trust and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the NSS units of the college organise seven days camp on the theme "Swachhta Hi Sewa & Health and Hygiene". It was inaugurated on 23rd December at Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd. The week-long camp, scheduled from 23rd to 29th December, aims to instil the values of cleanliness and to promote health and hygiene among the participants and the community.The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Dr. Parveen Goyal, NSS Programme Coordinator and Dr. Sonia Sharma, NSS Programme Officer as the distinguished guests from Panjab University, Chandigarh. The event was presided over by Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, who welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the importance of the camp in fostering a sense of responsibility among the students. She explained how the Sikh Gurus exemplified selfless service and dedication in performing their duties. Dr. Parveen Goyal delivered an insightful lecture on the history of NSS and emphasized the key duties of NSS volunteers in fostering community service. His session highlighted the importance of dedication and social responsibility among youth. Dr. Sonia Sharma explained the My Bharat Portal, highlighting its registration process and the importance of CV formation on the platform. S. Harmail Singh, member of SGHGU Hari Trust, highlighted the value of responsibility in work and emphasized that by fostering a proactive attitude and staying committed to our goals; we can effectively tackle problems and achieve success in all endeavours. NSS Programme officers Dr. Inderjit Kaur and Dr. Amandeep Kaur also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the relevance of cleanliness and personal hygiene in building a healthy society. The guests were graciously honoured with saplings and mementos as tokens of appreciation for their presence at the occasion. The inauguration set the tone for a week filled with meaningful activities aimed at community service and self-development. Our esteemed guests Dr. Parveen Goyal and Dr. Sonia Sharma, planted a sapling, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and a commitment to environmental conservation. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Navdip Kaur. The camp promises to be an impactful initiative, fostering leadership and social responsibility among the volunteers.
