
Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujjagar Hari Trust, Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, celebrated Basant Panchami on 3rd February 2025 with great devotion and enthusiasm. The festival was celebrated as part of the ongoing Human Values & Ethics course, which aims to instill ethical and religious principles among students, reinforcing the college’s commitment to spiritual and moral education. On this auspicious occasion, Japji Sahib Pathh was recited by the students at Gurudwara Sahib, followed by a soulful kirtan performance by students of the Educate Punjab Project. The Educate Punjab Project is a dedicated organization that works towards empowering underprivileged students by offering them financial assistance and promoting Sikh principles. The college was honoured to have Madam Jaspreet Kaur, Head of the Educate Punjab Project, who addressed the students on the significance of Gurbani and religious value. Madam Jaspreet Kaur remarked that just as Basant brings new life to nature, true happiness blossoms within the soul through Gurbani and spiritual wisdom. S. Pritam Singh Johal, esteemed trust member, graced the occasion and emphasized the core Sikh principles of Kirat Karni (honest living), Naam Japna (meditation on God's name) and Wand Chhakna (Selfless sharing), while highlighting the profound wisdom of Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s Bani. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur delivered the formal vote of thanks, reflecting on the historical significance of Basant Panchami and the legacy of Chheharta Sahib. She emphasized the importance of students drawing inspiration from their rich heritage with Gurbani as a guiding light in their lives. Prof. Karamdeep Kaur eloquently conducted the stage proceedings, ensuring a well-organized and engaging program. To celebrate the occasion, ladoos were distributed as a token of happiness and unity. The celebration was a harmonious blend of spirituality, tradition, and cultural expression. The event reinforced the values of learning, unity and moral development, leaving students and faculty with a renewed sense of inspiration and devotion.
