
The Eco Club and NSS unit of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized a Community Outreach Program on March 20 and 21, 2025 by marking World Sparrow Day and International Day of Forests. The outreach program held in celebration of the college’s 75-year legacy. As part of the initiative Gomsi, student of B.Com I enlightened the sangat at Gurudwara Baba Namdev Bhawan, Jagraon on March 20, about the vital role of sparrows in sustaining biodiversity and maintaining ecological harmony. She beautifully connected her discourse with the teachings of Baba Farid and Gurbani, emphasizing how Guru’s wisdom inspires the protection of nature. In the same spirit, Anshdeep Kaur, student of B.A. I engaged with students of Government Primary School, Sidhwan Kalan on March 21, highlighting the crucial role of forests in preserving biodiversity, regulating climate and sustaining life. She highlighted the essence of the Chipko Movement, inspiring students to embrace a culture of environmental responsibility and protect trees for future generations. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur applauded the dedication of students and faculty, highlighting the importance of environmental awareness and conservation in the modern world. The Eco Club of the college actively promotes wildlife conservation and sustainability through bird nest installations, feeder placements, bird water arrangements and plant care initiatives in campus.
