Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd,Established in 1950 at village Sidhwan Khurd, 30 km away from Ludhiana in lush green rural background, aptly hailed as the “Shantiniketan” of Punjab, Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd (Ludhiana) is a living testimony to the generosity of legendary donors Bhai Sahib Bhai Narain Singh and his wife Bebe Ram Kaur and later their daughter Bibi Harparkash Kaur, Padam Shree Awardee and daughter-in-law Bibi Attar Kaur. It is one of the five educational institutions run by Shri Guru Hargobind Ujjagar Hari Trust. 

The philanthropic spirit of the founders saw the trust develop from a fledging one into a fully grown organization, which today boasts of Five Educational Institutions holding aloft the lamp of knowledge by our Honorable Sri Guru Hargobind Ujjagar Hari Trust. The torch bearers today who are carrying forward the old traditions and guiding us to the right path are S. Birindar Singh Sidhu, IPS (President), S. Amarjeet Singh (Secretary), S. Pardeep Singh (Manager), S. Kirpal Singh Bhathal Retd. Chief Engineer (Sr. Member), S. Pritam Singh Johal, Retd. ADC, (Sr. Member), S. Harmail Singh Sidhu (Member) and S. Devinder Singh Mann, Chairman and Founder of Doon International Chain of Schools (Member). Currently the institution is attaining new heights under the dynamic stewardship of Dr. Rajwinder Kaur Hundal. 

The college is spread over 18.75 acres of land. It has put up a physical structure in the shape of well-furnished and well ventilated auditorium, 9 smart class rooms, various science labs, Fashion Designing lab, Home Science lab, language lab, seminar hall, computerized library, bus shed, a fleet of 21 buses, a huge hostel complex, gurudwara sahib, gymnasium, bank facility, various playgrounds, Mata Ram Kaur Charitable hospital, and canteen,. 

The college that made a real humble start 72 years ago with only a few girl students, has been moving forward in its progress march to establish itself as one of the major rural Educational College for Women. A single faculty degree college to start with, the college today can, with justifiable validity, boast having a multi-faculty, post-graduate rural college for women in Punjab. Total 355 students on rolls, it now caters to all the four streams i.e. Humanities, Science, Commerce and Computer Science. Keeping in view the current scenario, we have 6 PG Courses, 2 PG Diplomas, 7 UG Courses, like M.A. (History, Punjabi, English and Political Science), M.Com, M.Sc. IT, PGDMC, PGDCA, B.A., BCA, B.Com., B.Sc. (Medical, Non-medical with Comp. Sci.), B.A./B.Sc. B.Ed. 4 Year Integrated course and UGC sponsored 3 Add on Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in Web Designing and Multimedia, Computer based Accounting, Communicative English and Diploma in Fashion Technology & Apparel Designing (a career and skill oriented course approved from UGC under NSQF). 

A highly qualified and experienced staff under the seasoned guidance of the Principal and College Management is committed to the task of instilling in the students the love of knowledge and not merely cramming them with information. The college has 30 teachers out of whom 10 are Ph.D., 12 M.Phil. and 19 are UGC-NET qualified. In addition, the college has a fairly strong contingent of 66 Non-teaching employees including Office-staff, Laboratory Staff, Other Non-teaching staff like Transport Supervisor, Bus Drivers, Conductors, Restorer, Peons, Gardeners, Watchmen, Sweepers, Plumber, etc. The college also gives ample opportunity to its students to identify and explore their talents and areas of interest. 

There are 29 clubs, societies, cells and committees functioning in the college like Women Harassment Cell, Computer Science Committee, Anti-Ragging Committee, Anti-Drug Cell, Grievance Redressal Committee, Career and Counseling Committee, Commerce Society , Bibi Harparkash Kaur Society, Biological Society, Gyan-Vigyan Society, Bebe Ram Kaur Society, Red Cross Committee, Photography and Videography Committee, Medical Aid and Red Cross Committee, Red Ribbon Club, Library Committee, Gurudwara Committee, Plantation Committee, Social Science Forum, English Literary Forum, Punjabi Sahit Sabha, Book Bank Committee, Equal Opportunity Committee for Disabled Person, Internal Committee for Differently Abled Students, Leave to Students Committee, Picnic and Tour Committee, Scholarship Committee, Fee Concession Committee, and Students Welfare Committee. The college has 3 NSS units, NCC wing, and Central Student Association (CSA) for maintaining discipline.
