NSS units organize Awareness Programme on ‘Female Hygiene ‘and Health Checkup Camp at KCW, Sidhwan Khurd.

Under the able guidance of Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Principal (Addl. Charge) an awareness programme on ‘Female Hygiene’ was organized by NSS  Units  at Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd on March 20, 2024. Dr. Roohi Deol a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics from Deol Hospital, Mullanpur was the resource person. Dr. Amandeep Kaur welcomed the esteemed guest and encouraged the students to benefit from the expert views shared by her.  Floral saplings were presented to her and the team of experts accompanying her. Addressing the audience Dr. Roohi Deol stressed the importance of knowing  ones blood group and how blood donation can help many people in need of different components of the blood. She said that young  girls should  maintain an optimum level of hemoglobin to lead a healthy life.  She shared vital information on feminine hygiene during menstruation and asked the girls to adopt eco-friendly, sustainable and reusable options in place of synthetic sanitary pads. The superstitions and misconceptions about menstruation were also dispelled by her. A health checkup camp was organized by her team in which BMI, hemoglobin and blood group were tested. Dr. Roohi Deol was felicitated with a memento. Dr. Inderjit Kaur, NSS Programme Officer proposed a formal vote of thanks . Health checkup of 111 students and staff members was conducted.
