Fine Arts Society of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized 15 Days Workshop on Heritage Craft Items from September 7 to 21, 2023 for students. The Resource Person was Mrs. Harjeet Kaur, Instructor, Art and Craft from GHG Harparkash College of Education, Sidhwan Khurd and taught the students to make Guddian Patole, Chhikku, Pranda, Naala, Tokri, Mitti De Khidaune, Khiddo, Peehri, Rassa, Eeennu and traditional embroidery designs. 46 students were given demonstration to make various items. Hands on training was provided and the participants enthusiastically created beautiful articles and patterns. Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Principal (Addl. Charge) of the college congratulated the students on the successful completion of the workshop. She said that such endeavours can preserve our rich and varied cultural craft forms that have been handed down through generations but are fast becoming extinct. The youth can contribute to conserve valuable traditional skills and adopt these as a vocation. She praised the Fine Arts Society for its efforts.
