Punjab State Day was celebrated at Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd by PG Department of Punjabi under the able guidance of Principal ( Addl. Charge), Dr. Amandeep Kaur. Dr. Inderjit Kaur, HOD of Punjabi Department enlightened the staff and students about the historical significance of the demand, struggle and formation of a separate Punjab State in 1966. Dr. Balwinder Kaur conducted a quiz on various aspects of the auspicious day. Students Sukhjit Kaur, Ramanpreet Kaur and Rajdeep Kaur expressed their views on contemporary conditions prevailing in the state, the status of Punjabi language and the importance of this landmark occasion through their poetical recitation and speeches. Dr. Amandeep Kaur addressed the audience and congratulated everyone on this historical day and said that we should revive our bond with Punjab, Punjabi, Punjabiyat and the rich Heritage of our land.Dr. Gagandeep Dharni, HOD, PG Department of English attended the event.46 students participated in the programme.
