The traditional festival of Lohri was celebrated at Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd under the able guidance of the Principal ( Addl. Charge), Dr. Amandeep Kaur. The staff and students celebrated the occasion by customary ritual of offering ‘til’ in the bonfire. The atmosphere was enlivened with festive fervour, when student Manpreet Kaur recited a poem dedicated to the event , Garima presented an energetic dance and Muskan Kaur and her fellow classmates mesmerized the audience with their group dance. Students of Sikh Girls Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd also attended the event and showcased their talent through poetical recitation.Dr. Amandeep Kaur congratulated Gurnaz Kaur daughter of Prof. Harwinder Kaur, Kafia Brar daughter of Prof. Ramanpreet Kaur, Mehtab Singh son of Prof. Harmanpreet Kaur and Gurneev Kaur daughter of Dr. Paramdeep Singh on this auspicious day of their first Lohri. Best wishes were conveyed to the newly wed staff members. Gurjit Singh,Prof. Sumit Kumar and S. Jagraj Singh who were celebrating their first Lohri. Groundnuts and Rewari were distributed to all. Tea Party was arranged for staff. Dr. Gagandeep Dharni and Dr. Inderjit Kaur incharges of the function conducted the proceedings effectively.
