International Mother Tongue Day celebrated at KCW , Sidhwan Khurd

PG Department of Punjabi and Punjabi Literary Society jointly celebrated International Mother Tongue Day under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr. Amandeep Kaur. Various activities like Seven Days Punjabi Typing Workshop on AnmolLipi for 20 students , slogan writing and essay writing competition were organized. On February 21, 2024 Dr.Inderjit Kaur, HOD, PG Department of Punjabi enlightened the staff and students about the historical significance of International Mother Tongue Day. A quiz on Punjabi literature and culture was conducted in which students participated enthusiastically. Dr. Balwinder Kaur presented a PPT on “History and Importance of Mother Tongue”. Students took oath to serve their mother tongue through its dissemination. Dr. Amandeep Kaur congratulated everyone on this auspicious occasion. She said that it is the prime responsibility of the Punjabis to raise awareness on providing impetus to Punjabi language and encouraged the students to give expression to their creative impulses in Punjabi. 61 students attended the event.
