Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd premier educational institution for girls organized Annual Prize Distribution Function on the theme “ Echoes of Tradition, Visions of Future” under the aegis of SGHGU Hari Trust and able guidance of Principal Dr. Amandeep Kaur (Addl. Charge) to applaud and honour student achievers in the academic, cultural and sports field. Dr. Sawraj, eminent litterateur and renowned cardiologist graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The programme commenced with Shabad Recital followed by Lamp Lighting ceremony. Dr. Amandeep Kaur delivered the formal welcome address and praised the Chief Guest as a multi faceted personality of international repute who was a rare combination imbuing qualities of literary and medicinal fields. She greeted S. Pritam Singh Johal, Secretary, SGHGU Hari Trust and S. Kirpal Singh Bhathal, management member who adorned the event with their presence. She appreciated the prize winners and parents of the students who spared their precious time for joining the event. Dr. Amandeep Kaur presented annual report of the college in the form of PPT. 90 students were felicitated for their outstanding performance. College Colour was presented to 41 students for their excellence in cultural activities. Colourful cultural performance by the students comprising of Gidha, Group Songs, Play, Folk Songs, Dances, Indian Orchestra, Folk Orchestra, Bhangra, Speeches and Poetical Recitation mesmerized the audience. Dr. Sawraj Singh addressed the audience and inspired them to follow the path of universal concern and universal welfare taught by Shri Guru Granth Sahib to overcome the contemporary problems and challenges faced by humanity in the context of narrow perspective proposed by globalization. S. Pritam Singh Johal thanked the Chief Guest and inspired the students to mobilize the society against drug addiction and inculcate the value of caring for the elderly in the family. Principals of sister Institutions of Sidhwan Group of Institutions, Dr. Shweta Dhand, Mr. Pawan Sood and Mrs. Daljit Kaur also attended the function. Dr. Gagandeep Dharni, Incharge Cultural Committee and Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Co-convener of the function conducted the proceedings of the event efficiently. The Chief Guest was honoured with a memento and lohi. Dr. Navdip Kaur, Convener of the programme proposed formal vote of thanks.
