Under the able guidance of Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Principal (Addl. Charge) Sports Committee of Khalsa College for Women Sidhwan Khurd organized Inter House Kabaddi Tournament on September 6, 2024 to commemorate life and contribution of Major Dhyan Chand whose birth anniversary is celebrated annually as National Sports Day on August 29. Four Houses christened after the names of the founders of the institution namely Bhai Narain Singh, Mata Ram Kaur, Bibi Harparkash Kaur and Bibi Attar Kaur have been constituted. The event commenced with the hoisting of the college flag Mata Ram Kaur House stood first. Bhai Naraian Singh House and Bibi Harparkash Kaur House bagged the second and third position respectively. Trophies were given to teams securing first, second and third position. Participation certificates were awarded to all the players. Dr. Amandeep Kaur congratulated the winners and said that participation in sports is indispensable for the all round personality development of the students. She said that a sound mind resides in a healthy body. Such competitions are also an avenue for students to display their physical prowess and skill at playing various games. She praised the efforts of Dr. Paramdeep Singh, incharge of the event and Sports Committee for the success of the tournament.
