Khalsa College for Women Sidhwan Khurd, observed festival of Maghi

Under the able guidance of the Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust, Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, observed the auspicious occasion of Maghi during the morning assembly. The event showcased a blend of historical reflections, cultural performances and inspirational addresses, highlighting the importance of Sikh heritage and values. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Navdip Kaur, who extended her greetings to all attendees and set the tone for the observance. This was followed by a compelling historical narrative presented by Gomsi, a student of B.Com I, who detailed the significance of Maghi and the sacrifices of the Chali Mukte (Forty Liberated Ones) in the Battle of Muktsar. Adding a poetic touch to the occasion, Manpreet Kaur from BA II recited a heartfelt poem, capturing the essence of bravery and devotion. The cultural vibrance continued with a melodious song performance by Asha and Ramanpreet Kaur, students of BA I, which resonated deeply with the audience. The highlight of the event was an inspiring address by Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, who emphasized the importance of remembering and honoring the legacy of the Chali Mukte. She encouraged students to imbibe the values of courage, faith and commitment exemplified by these martyrs. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gagandeep Dharni, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers and the trust for their support in making the event successful. The entire program was seamlessly conducted by Dr. Inderjit Kaur, whose excellent stage management ensured a smooth flow of events.
