
On March 8, 2025, Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized a one-day educational-cum-excursion trip to Fatehgarh Sahib and Chandigarh offering students an opportunity to explore historical, cultural and recreational sites. The trip was organized by the NSS unit, Eco Club and Tour Committee of the college to commemorate International Women's Day. The journey began with a visit to Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib, where students paid homage and learned about the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This was followed by an insightful visit to the Air Force Heritage Museum, where students explored India’s rich aviation history and notably the contributions of women in the Indian Air Force. At Bird Park, students observed a variety of exotic bird species, enhancing their understanding of biodiversity and conservation efforts. The next stop was the iconic Rock Garden, where they admired unique sculptures made from industrial and household waste, showcasing creativity and sustainable art. The trip concluded at the picturesque Sukhna Lake, where students enjoyed the serene environment and scenic beauty. The excursion provided a perfect blend of learning and recreation, leaving the participants with valuable knowledge and cherished memories. A total of 105 students took part in the trip accompanied by five faculty members, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Ms. Rajni, Ms. Bhagwant Kaur, Ms. Avneet Kaur and S. Gurjeet Singh. Their guidance and supervision made the trip a successful and enriching experience.
