Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the Trip and Tour Committee, NSS , Eco Club and Human Values and Ethics course of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized a one-day educational trip to Amritsar on March 28, 2025. The trip was organized as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the college. The excursion aimed to provide students with cultural, historical and spiritual enrichment by visiting significant landmarks in the city. The itinerary included visits to the Golden Temple, Bhai Vir Singh Memorial Museum and Jallianwala Bagh. The students visited the Golden Temple, where they experienced the serene ambiance of the holiest Sikh shrine. The next stop was the residence of the renowned Punjabi poet, scholar and reformer Bhai Vir Singh. The students explored the house, which has been preserved as a tribute to his literary and spiritual contributions. The students then proceeded to Jallianwala Bagh, a historic site that commemorates the tragic massacre of April 13, 1919. The visit served as an eye-opening experience about India’s colonial history and the resilience of its people. A group of 30 students took part in the excursion, accompanied by faculty members Prof. Ashwani Jain and Mrs. Amandeep Kaur. The trip was a great success, offering students a blend of spiritual growth, historical awareness and cultural enrichment. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of the organizing teams and faculty members for ensuring a well-coordinated and informative excursion.
