Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujjagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the second day of the Faculty Development Program was successfully conducted on 27 May 2025 focusing on the theme “Environmental Issues and Green Audit in Higher Educational Institutions.” The event also marked the ongoing celebration of 75 years of excellence in women’s education. The resource person for the day was Dr. Mohinder Kaur Grewal, former Principal of Government College for Girls, Ludhiana. She was warmly welcomed with sapling by Vice Principal Dr. Navdip Kaur and senior faculty members. In her informative and engaging session, Dr. Grewal addressed the significance of implementing Green Audits in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and highlighted the need to integrate environmental consciousness into campus practices. She also connected these practices with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to create a sustainable and equitable future for all. Important environmental issues such as the fuel crisis, deforestation, and water pollution etc. were discussed with a strong emphasis on the responsibility of HEIs in mitigating these problems through education, awareness and action. A momento was presented to the resource person as a token of appreciation. The stage proceedings were conducted by Dr. Inderjit Kaur and the session concluded with a vote of thanks by IQAC Coordinator Prof. Roopa Kaur Rai who appreciated the depth of knowledge shared and the active participation of faculty members. The session served as a wake-up call for educators to reflect on their role in shaping a greener and more responsible future.
