The students excelling in the contests organized by Literary Society in collaboration with Social Sciences Forum of Khalsa College for Women Sidhwan Khurd to observe International Literacy Day on September 15, 2025 by organizing Speech Contest and Essay Writing Competition were felicitated. The students expressed their views on Financial Literacy, Life Long Learning, Digital Literacy, Sustainable Development and Importance of AI in human progress. Ms. Roopa Kaur Rai and Dr. Balwinder Kaur conducted the Speech and Essay Writing Contests respectively. Mrs. Hardeep Kaur and Mrs. Karamdeep Kaur were the judges. In Essay Writing Competition Anureet Kaur of BSc BEd -1 got first position. Priyanshi of BSc 2 and Harmandeep Kaur of MCom 2 were declared bracketed second. Rashi of BSc BEd 1 stood third. In the Speech Competition Arshnoor Kaur of BSc BEd 2 bagged the first prize. Harjas Kaur of BA1 bagged the second prize and Khushmanpreet Kaur from BBA 1 secured third place. Jashanpreet Kaur of BSc BEd 2 and Anjali from BCom 2 won consolation prize. Dr. Satinder Kaur, Principal of the college gave away the prizes and praised the efforts of incharge teachers. She lauded the participant students and said that literacy is not relegated to reading and writing but all the skills that facilitate in living a harmonius and successful life.
