Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd Celebrated 75 Years of Glorious Service in Womens Education with Grand Alumni Meet

 

Under the patronage of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust, Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd organized an Alumni Meet on October 11, 2025 to commemorate 75 years of glorious service in womens education. The event was graced by Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Former Chief Minister of Punjab and an esteemed alumna of the college as the Chief Guest. The celebration commenced with the soulful recitation of Shabad Gayan, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. S. Jarnail Singh Dhillon, Honourable Trust Member extended an official welcome to the Chief Guest. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur warmly welcomed all the guests and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their presence on this momentous occasion. To mark the occasion of growth and sustainability, a sapling was presented to the Chief Guest by trust members and the Principals of sister institutions. The event was graced by Dr. G. S. Grewal, Manager of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and S. Pritam Singh Johal, Secretary of the Trust. The function was further honoured by the presence of Mrs. Daljit Kaur, Principal, Sikh Girls Senior Secondary School, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Principal, GHG Harparkash College of Education, Ms. Sandeep Kaur Principal, GHG Public School, Dr Shweta Dhand, Principal, GHG Institute of Law and Dr. G. Pavan Kumar, Principal, GHG Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd. The event featured a vibrant cultural programme including Folk geet, group dances and Giddha which filled the atmosphere with nostalgia and joy. Fun games for the alumni were conducted by Prof. Karamdeep Kaur and Prof. Ashish Kumar adding liveliness to the celebration. To honour the lifelong bond between the institution and its former students, the College Magazine and the Alumni Directory were formally released. All the alumni were presented with a token of respect from the institution as a gesture of appreciation for their enduring bond and contribution to the colleges legacy. The Chief Guest Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal was honoured with a memento and a token of gratitude. In her address, Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal fondly recalled her days at College, appreciating its serene environment and the purity of its water which she said still symbolises the essence and values of her alma mater. She also motivated the students to work with dedication, uphold moral values and contribute meaningfully to society, carrying forward the rich legacy of the institution. S. Pritam Singh Johal extended heartfelt thanks to the Chief Guest for gracing the celebration with her presence and inspiring words. More than 100 alumni joined this memorable occasion, rekindling their bond with their alma mater. Stage proceedings were conducted gracefully by Prof. Roopa Kaur Rai and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, ensuring the smooth flow of the program. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Gagandeep Dharni, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, alumni, faculty and staff for their gracious presence and contributions in making the Alumni Meet a grand success.
