Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd Excels at 66th Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival

Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, running under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust, once again added glory to the institution by winning the First Runner-Up Trophy in the 66th Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival (Moga–Ferozepur Zone-III) held at Guru Nanak College, Moga, from October 27 to 30, 2025. The achievement added a special shine to the ongoing celebrations of 75 years of the college’s unwavering commitment to women’s education. The college showcased remarkable talent, creativity and cultural vibrancy across various categories like theatrical, musical, literary and heritage. Over 100 students of the college participated in the festival and out of 34 participating colleges, the college brought laurels by winning an impressive total of 40 prizes. One Act Play and Giddha Team clinched the first position. The college also secured top honours in Story Writing and Installation. In the heritage craft category, the students displayed traditional artistry and skill by winning first positions in Knitting, Peerhi Making and Nala Making reflecting the institution’s commitment to preserving Punjab’s rich cultural and artistic heritage. The college bagged second positions in Poem Recitation, Folk Orchestra, On-the-Spot Painting, Rangoli, Photography, Collage Making, Indian Orchestra, Percussion, Pranda Making and Luddi (Team Folk Dance).  Adding to the pride, the institution also won third positions in Essay Writing, Kavishri, Vaar, Kali, Histrionics, Mimicry, Poster Making, Non-Percussion, Mime, Bhand, Skit and Lok Geet. Husanpreet Kaur won the first prize in Giddha, while Jasleen Kaur secured the first prize in Bhand. Asha Rani earned third prizes in both Folk Orchestra and Kali, whereas Garima achieved third prizes in Kavishri and Shabad Gayan. Taranpreet Kaur brought laurels to the college by winning the third prize in Luddi. Prabhjot Kaur bagged the third prize in Indian Orchestra and Percussion, while Neetika secured the third prize in Non-Percussion and the second prize in Indian Orchestra. The Convenor of the Youth and Heritage Festival was Dr. Gagandeep Dharni and the Co-Convenor was Dr. Inderjit Kaur. The splendid performance of the college reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, cultural preservation and holistic student development.
