Punjab State Day celebrated at KCW, Sidhwan Khurd,

       

 

Punjab State Day was jointly celebrated by Postgraduate Department of Punjabi, Punjabi Sahit Sabha and Social Sciences Forum on November 01, 2025. Principal , Dr. Satinder Kaur enlightened the students about the Punjab Reorganization Act of 1966, under which the State was reorganized on linguistic basis, where the region speaking pahadi became Himachal Pradesh, the area where majority spoke Haryanavi became Haryana State and the area where Punjabi was the language of majority of the people became Punjab.  Dr. Navdip Kaur HoD PG Department of History, shared the contribution of diligent advocate of the Punjab State , Master Tara Singh. Dr. Inderjit Kaur, HoD   PG Department of Punjabi told about the significance of Punjabi language. Various other items were organized to mark the day. Dr. Balwinder Kaur organized an interesting quiz on the myriad aspects of Punjab State day in which the students enthusiastically participated. Prof. Karamdeep Kaur acquainted the audience about the constitutional provisions. A pledge was taken by faculty and students to speak and adopt Punjabi mother tongue.  A documentary related to the occasion was screened and a speech dedicated to the day was delivered by Gurpreet Kaur student of BSc.II .Dr. Satinder Kaur congratulated everyone on this auspicious day and praised the efforts of the organizing team and participants.  Dr. Inderjit Kaur conducted the proceedings of the program effectively. 80 students attended the event .
