Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd Organizes Inter-School Competitions Dedicated to 350th Martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji

 

Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, the Post Graduate Department of Punjabi and the Department of History organized inter-school competitions dedicated to the 350 years of the Martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji on November 27, 2025. Students from various schools participated in Poetical Recitation, Paper Reading, Kavishri and Calligraphy contests. The occasion was graced by the esteemed members of the SGHGU Hari Trust, S. Pritam Singh Johal (Secretary), Dr. G. S. Grewal (Manager) and S. Harmail Singh Sidhu (Member). In Poetical Recitation, Jaskaran Kaur of GTB National School, Dakha stood first, Simranjit Kaur of Sikh Girls Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd got second position, Karamjot Kaur of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Institute (Suchaji Foundation, Ludhiana) secured third, while Jasnoor Kaur of Guru Hargobind Public Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd received the consolation prize. In the Paper Reading competition, Chandini of Sikh Girls Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd clinched the first position, Jasleen Kaur of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Institute (Suchaji Foundation, Ludhiana) stood second, Simranjit Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Jagraon got third and Varinder Kaur of GHG Public Senioe Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd earned the consolation prize. In Kavishri, the team of Sukhchain Singh, Arshpreet and Ekamjot from Guru Nanak Dev Ji Institute (Suchaji Foundation, Ludhiana) secured the first position, Harleen, Riya and Jasleen Kaur Bhathal from GTB National Public School, Dakha won second place, Manveer, Gursirat and Navneet Kaur from Sikh Girls Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd stood third, while Jashandeep Kaur and Kamal of Government Senior Secondary School, Jagraon received the consolation prize. In the Calligraphy competition, Taranjit Kaur of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Institute (Suchaji Foundation, Ludhiana) stood first, Amrit Toor of Eastwood International Public School, Mullanpur secured second place, Ragini of Sikh Girls Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd got third and Kamalpreet Kaur of GTB National Public School, Dakha along with Sahibjot Kaur of GHG Public Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd received consolation prizes. All winners and participants were honoured with certificates and trophies for their commendable participation. All school teachers accompanying the teams were honoured as a gesture of appreciation for their continuous support and mentorship. The function was further honoured by the presence of Mrs. Daljit Kaur, Principal, Sikh Girls Senior Secondary School, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Principal, GHG Harparkash College of Education, Ms. Sandeep Kaur Principal, GHG Public School and Dr. Shweta Dhand, Principal, GHG Institute of Law, Sidhwan Khurd. S. Pritam Singh Johal, Honorable Trust Secretary, addressed gathering, emphasized the values of courage, sacrifice and religious freedom reflected in the Martyrdom of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur expressed deep gratitude to all who joined and supported the event, acknowledging their role in its smooth and successful conduct. Prof. Karamdeep Kaur and Dr. Manpreet Kaur conducted the stage gracefully, ensuring the smooth flow of proceedings. The programme was meticulously organized by Vice Principal and Head of the Department of History, Dr. Navdip Kaur and Head of the Department of Punjabi, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, whose efforts ensured the success of the event.
