Under the patronage of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Principal Dr.
Satinder Kaur, the Red Ribbon Club and Red Cross Society of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan
Khurd organized an Extension Lecture to raise awareness about ‘Female Foeticide’ on February 26,
2026. The keynote speaker for the extension lecture was Dr. Surjit Singh Daudhar, Retired Professor,
Department of Psychology, LLRM College of Education, Dhudike. The programme commenced with a
formal welcome by the Principal, Dr. Satinder Kaur who honoured the resource person with a sapling
as a token of respect and appreciation. Dr. Surjit Singh Daudhar addressed the students and delivered
an insightful and thought-provoking extension lecture. He elaborated on the psychological, social and
ethical consequences of female foeticide and explained how gender discrimination creates imbalance
and injustice in society. He motivated the students to become socially responsible citizens and to
actively participate in spreading awareness against this social evil. The programme concluded with a
formal vote of thanks delivered by Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur, who expressed sincere gratitude to the
resource person for his enlightening discourse and thanked the faculty members and students for their
enthusiastic participation and cooperation. The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by Prof.
Karamdeep Kaur. The extension lecture proved highly informative and impactful, creating awareness
among the students about the urgent need to eradicate female foeticide and to uphold the dignity, rights
and value of the girl child in society.
