Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, a renowned institution run under the Shri Guru
Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust organized a one-day workshop on “Fire Safety and Use of Safety
Equipments.” The workshop was jointly conducted by the NSS and NCC units of the college
with the objective of spreading awareness about fire safety and emergency readiness among
students. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Jasbinder Kumar and Mr. Kamaldeep Sharma
from Fire Safety Experts, Jagraon. They provided detailed insights into various types of fire
safety equipment and explained their proper usage in different emergency situations. They also
highlighted common causes of fire hazards and shared important preventive measures.The
session included a practical demonstration, which enabled students to understand the
functioning of fire extinguishers effectively. Students actively participated and performed the
procedures themselves under expert guidance, gaining valuable hands-on experience and
confidence in handling fire-related emergencies. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur appreciated the
initiative and emphasized the importance of such practical training in ensuring student safety
and alertness. She encouraged students to remain alert and well-informed in dealing with
unforeseen situations. Around 40 students attended the workshop enthusiastically. The
workshop concluded successfully with enhanced awareness and practical knowledge among the
participants regarding fire safety.
