Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great
patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The celebration was jointly organised by the NSS, NCC and
Social Science Forum of the college. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the
National Flag on the college campus by the worthy Principal, Dr. Satinder Kaur, amid the
fluttering of colourful flags that adorned the surroundings and enhanced the festive atmosphere.
On the occasion, she addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Independence
Day, motivating the students to uphold the values of freedom, unity, discipline and national
pride. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
Students also participated in the National Flag of India Quiz conducted by the Ministry of
Youth Affairs and Sports through the My Bharat Portal. The celebrations concluded with the
rendition of the National Anthem, filling the campus with an air of patriotism and pride. Ladoos
were distributed among the students and faculty members to mark the joyous occasion.
