Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Dr. Navdip
Kaur, Principal (Officiating), Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on
September 5, 2026 at Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd. The programme was
organised by the Department of Education to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the renowned philosopher, scholar and former President of India.
The programme began with a gracious welcome by Dr. Paramjit Kaur, who warmly welcomed
the Principal, faculty members, students and expressed her pleasure in celebrating the special
occasion to gether. The students added charm and vibrancy to the celebration through a series of
skits, poetry recitations and dance performances, beautifully portraying their affection, gratitude
and respect for their teachers. Prof. Ashish Kumar also presented a self-composed poem
dedicated to teachers, which added a special touch to the celebration. Prof. Gagandeep Aulakh
and Dr. Mahipal Dutt shared their thoughts on the significance of Teachers’ Day and reflected
on the invaluable role of teachers in guiding and inspiring students. Dr. Navdip Kaur addressed
the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the students. She highlighted the importance of the
teacher-student bond in shaping individuals and society. She beautifully connected the
teachings of Gurbani with the importance of knowledge, humility, respect and guidance in a
student’s life. She also recalled the inspiring examples of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr.
Manmohan Singh, Kautilya and Abraham Lincoln, highlighting how education, teachers and
mentors play a significant role in shaping one’s personality, wisdom and achievements. Prof.
Bhagwant Kaur proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her sincere appreciation to the
Principal, faculty members and students for their gracious presence and enthusiastic
participation. The programme concluded on a warm and cordial note with a cup of tea shared by
the teachers, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and togetherness.
