Under the aegis of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust and the able guidance of Principal
Dr. Satinder Kaur, the NSS Units of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, observed
World Ozone Day on September 16, 2026. The programme aimed to sensitise students towards
environmental conservation and encourage them to adopt eco friendly practices in their daily
lives. As part of the observance, students and faculty members collectively took the World
Ozone Day pledge. The pledge was led by NSS volunteer Gurpreet Kaur, who encouraged
everyone to take collective responsibility for protecting the ozone layer and safeguarding the
environment. The activity highlighted the significance of the ozone layer in shielding life on
Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation and emphasised the need to minimise activities that
contribute to environmental degradation. Principal Dr. Satinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of
the NSS Units and encouraged the students to develop greater environmental consciousness and
contribute towards sustainable development through responsible actions.
